Find The Fun

A CPO's number one mindset shift was learning to 'figure out how to have fun in my job, even in the most difficult times' because it changed her from operating from scarcity to operating from abundance.

Anneka Gupta got advice that transformed how she handles hard things.

'When you're hit with really hard times, it's easy to operate from a mindset of scarcity and to look at everything as an unachievable hurdle to overcome. When I was able to switch my mindset and say, "Well, I'm actually going to figure out a way to have fun with this," it actually changed my entire approach.'

This is parenting at 3am.

You can approach the wake-up with dread and resentment. Or you can approach it with: 'Okay, this is ridiculous, but let's see if I can make this slightly funny.'

'Figuring out how to bring humor into the meeting just starting it on a light note, that elevated my own mood but also adds a level of levity for other people as well.'

The situation doesn't change. You still have to get through the night. The bedtime routine still has to happen.

But your experience of it changes completely based on whether you're fighting it or finding the absurdity in it.
